Metro 12′s v Central Coast Draw 1 all.

After watching the way we warmed up today Dragan and I thought how do we lift the team? Nothing we did or said seemed to work, we looked tired and half a metre off the pace in the first half, our passes going astray and Central Coast winning most of the 50/50 contests. We looked like a team out of luck with nothing going our way.

Like I always say to the boys” Good technique and determination make you lucky.” To be honest we did have a little bit of luck, we were lucky not to have been down three or four nil at half time. With Central Coast pressing us high up the field, with a very attacking 1-4-3-3, playing the way we usually do, they simply outplayed us in this half.

With the start of the second half there was a hint of the real Sharks, we started to move the ball quickly and play forward to feet with some nice passing from our midfield finding our forwards in good positions. We started to battle and in patches we out played Coast, finally scoring a well deserved equaliser, with a hint of panic in the coast team we tried to steal an undeserved win, the final ten minutes we camped in their half and had shot after shot, with one glancing off of the cross bar for no result, Coast were still trying to counter attack but our defence was strong. We were held to a draw today by a good football team, who probably went back up the coast feeling like they deserved a win not a draw.

After our game against Granville on Friday night, we certainly know how that feels and probably part of the reason for lack of spark today! A good second half effort, to come back and steal a point, good teams manage to salvage something from games even when they don’t play to their potential. We are a good team with a lot of potential, who were just a little bit flat today; see you at training on Tuesday where we will sharpen up for the game against Blacktown this weekend. Regards Coach Stuart Blake.
