A game we should have walked away with a result. A win was on the cards if we had taken our chances today. We let Bathurst off the hook. Although we had 70% of the play we could not convert our chances both in the first half and again in the second.
There 2 goals came against the run of play as we were dominating. A lack of communication between our defender and keeper saw their striker get in-between them to place the ball in the back of the net 3 minutes before half time. 90% of the second half was played in Bathurst half and again their keeper seemed to be a magnet. We continued to press for the equaliser and again got caught out on the counter. With our keeper coming out to cut the angle she miss judged and the ball went through her hands. To the girls credit we never gave up continuing to press. Eventually we got the goal with 13 minutes to play. It was to be the final result though 2-1 Bathurst. To say I was disappointed losing would be a lie. I was devastated. How we could dominate a game and still lose. The bright side was we never gave up and were creating more chances than our opposition. The difference is they seem to take theirs.
As last week we had our chances to beat Central Coast we let them off the hook.
Overall I was happy with the style of football we play as was the oppostion coach and the spectators. Some comments were that brillant football,pleasure to watch,exciting football.
As a coach I am proud to here these comments from strangers and also proud of you girls.
