Help Lismore Flood Victims get back on their feet

As you know the Far North Coast has been absolutely devastated by floods, with the Lismore CBD (for example) being obliterated and a forecast of years for recovery … if at all.

There is a concern for the future of football (soccer) given that the focus after the floods is simply to find a bed. Football Far North Coast would like to give hope wherever possible … and provide an outlet, and to that end, an amended season is being discussed.

Football Far North Coast has suggested we start with collecting donated football boots, socks and shin pads and help provide those who have nothing left something to look forward to (i.e. an opportunity to play football).

Do you have any boots (new or quality second hand) that you could donate?

If so, please drop them at your local Club (or directly to the home of Cronulla Seagulls – Cnr Kingsway and Woolooware Rd South, Cronulla). The boots will then be delivered by truck (donated by Richmond Valley Removals) on 15th April to Lismore. Please donate during Club opening hours.

Donations invited by Saturday 9th April.

DONATION REQUIREMENTS are stated below

 All items to be clean and good quality.
 Shoelaces to be tied.
 Shoes, socks and shin pads to be placed in separate boxes.
 Boxes of boots to be labelled with Male or Female and the sizes. FYI Australian women’s shoes sizes are the same as US women’s sizes. Australian men’s shoe sizes are the same as UK men’s sizes.

The assistance of the SSFA clubs and ultimately our players is greatly appreciated.
