In today’s digital world, photography and video play an important role in celebrating football moments and supporting the development of players and referees. However, it is vital that any publicly shared footage reflects the values of our game
Anyone capturing photos or videos for club use or intended for social media must ensure that all content complies with the Football NSW Social Media Policy, respect the dignity of participants, and align with Football Australia’s Safeguarding Policies.
Footage must never be used to humiliate, embarrass, or target any participant – including Players, Coaches, Managers, and Referees. When footage is published, individuals should not be identified by name or tag.
Individuals or owners of equipment must also supervise and securely install VEO/AI camera stands to prevent potential injuries.
Additionally, while photography cannot be prohibited at public venues, participants should be informed, and respectful requests not to be filmed must be honoured.
This is a rapidly evolving area, and we are committed to supporting clubs in navigating it responsibly. We encourage the use of common sense and have provided guidelines and helpful resources below to assist.
