WMD Law becomes a major player in Football in the Shire!

Fresh off the back of FIFA’s announcement of Australasia hosting the 2023 Women’s World Cup, WMD Law are proud to announce some exciting local football news.
Football is the biggest participant sport in the Sutherland Shire with over 18,000 locals lacing up the boots each week to represent one of 26 Shire Clubs.

Like much of the Shire, many of the WMD Law’s team are involved in soccer, as a player, a referee, a coach, a manager, a ‘Soccer Mum or Dad’, or just supporters.

From kick-off on Saturday 4th July, competitive games at 65 grounds across the Shire will be assisted by referees and lines people vital to the safety and enjoyment of the sport.

WMD Law are proud to announce that we are now the major partner of the Sutherland Shire Football Referees Association.

WMD’s first-class team of lawyers strive to help our clients achieve equity and fairness in their everyday lives.  We are now extending that same philosophy to the wider community by combining it with fun and healthy outdoor-living on the soccer fields across the Shire.  We recognise the difficult and important role that referees play and are happy to lend a hand.

As the leading law firm in the Shire, WMD Law have a proud 50-year history of supporting our local community.  Adding to our ongoing support of sporting bodies in all our locations across Sydney and the South Coast we are pleased to now be providing important support to Sutherland Shire Football Referees Association to facilitate better training and game day communications, develop and improve the level of local officiating and in turn provide greater enjoyment of the game for all players throughout the Shire.

Chris Young, President of the SSFRA said “We are delighted to be partnering with WMD Law for season 2020 and beyond.  Their brand and team are widely respected across the Shire and we couldn’t think of a better fit in helping us to provide a better soccer experience for all of the local participants of the game.”
