FEMALE FOOTBALL WEEK

Female Football Week is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the immense growth of women’s football at all levels of the game and acknowledge and promote the important role women play in developing football.

The objective of Female Football Week is to drive female participation at all levels of the game.

2025 Female Football Week will be held in May.

Throughout the week Football NSW and our Associations/Clubs will be actively involved in the delivery of female football events including:

  • Female Football Rounds
  • Come + Try Sessions
  • Free Skills Clinics
  • Festival of Football

Initiative idea’s for You and Your Club to Run in 2025:
  • Local Match Day Celebration: Hosting a local women’s match? Invite the community to come out and support – advertise and decorate the field to celebrate.
  • Community BBQ: Organize a BBQ after a women’s game to bring together players, families, and fans, fostering community spirit.
  • Girls’ Football Day: Hold a free training session or mini-tournament for girls in the area to encourage participation in football.
  • Thank You Notes: Have players write thank-you notes to female coaches, referees, and volunteers, highlighting their contributions to the club.
  • Friendly Matches: Organize friendly matches between local clubs or with parents, showcasing women’s football and fostering community ties.
