With the atmosphere at the field building pre-game, the team was excited to get on the field, and give it our best. The whistle blew and the play began. With a lot of pressure from St George in the opening minutes the girls were able to overcome and fight back, giving it our all. Midfield were holding the team strong, unfortunately at around 6 minutes a penalty was given to St George where they scored. We were able to keep our heads held high for the rest of the half, with the attackers making promising runs, and having a couple of shots on goal. The score at half time was 1-0.

The second half commenced and the team immediately pressured St George, to the point where the ball was received by their goalkeeper. With the team being held together by our phenomenal midfield and defence, the attackers made many promising runs towards goal with the pressure from our wingers crosses and through balls penetrating St George’s defence. Arabella and our defence held strong being able to hold off any St George attempts on goal. An unfortunate goal at 73 minutes was scored by St George, but we kept our heads held high, and continued to make some excellent plays and runs.
