SSFA U15’s vs Hills
Round 1 Saturday 25th Feb 2023
It was a cracker of a day to start the first round of the AYL U15 season vs Hills Football at Bella Vista Public School.
The boys were pumped to start the season after a good performance at the Bathurst Cup and half the team new this year, mainly from club football. Before the boys commenced, they voted for their Captain and Vice Captains for the season: Zane Jackson as Captain with Vice Captains Emerson Riquelme and Fletcher Grima.
The first half started well for the boys who showed strong urgency and press on the opposition. The first goal came in the 10th minute with Hills scoring from a free kick over the head of our keeper. Sutherland Shire responded in gusto fashion with its first goal of the season through Ethan who made a marvellous run down the right wing to score.
The first half ended with both teams 1 -1.
The Hills came out hard in the second half and were rewarded with a goal in the 39th minute after we struggled to clear the ball from our goal box.
Fortunately for the Shire, Zane © was able to kick the ball from just inside the opposition half over the keeper’s head to level the scores 2-2. The final result was a draw for both teams.
Jonathan , our coach was very impressed with his boys who delivered an impressive performance and had an extra few chances.
A really classy effort by both teams who were equally posed for the entire match.
