SSFA AYL15’s vs Blacktown
Our coach, Jonathan Dmoch got the boys in a great mental state before the game with lots of tactics and feedback to the team.
The weather was perfect to play our first game of the season at home vs Blacktown. The game started with both teams trying to hold possession and manoeuvre the ball through long passes over the opposition backs. A turning point occurred in the 21st minute with one of our boys being shown a red card for fouling a player with last man defending outside of the box. SSFA were now down to 10 men for the rest of the game as Jono dropped a forward to help even up the back line. Half time score 0-0.
The boys knew they were up for challenge and they responded in a creditable fashion. Blacktown’s first and only goal came in the 10th minute of the second half after a quick turnaround and through ball was scored from a tight angle. The final score was 1-0 to Blacktown. Jonathan Dmoch (coach) commended the boys for their fighting spirit which did not drift away during the game and they showed great resilience to continue playing attacking football – very inspiring to watch .
