SSFA AYL18 Bathurst Cup
As the inaugural year for AYL U18’s, the start to Bathurst was a lesson in working as a team.
Losing the first 2 games 1-2 and 3-1, lessons were soon understood and playing together became the most important factor.
Confidence grew, and rapport was being formed between this new merged side from 2 previous SSFA u16 sides and a number of other clubs, which showed in game 3 under the lights at 7:40pm.
A 0-0 draw with a strong hosting club Western NSW Football didn’t enable us progress in the Bathurst competition, but certainly showed progress in team spirit and cohesion.
In the final game we again kept a clean sheet and held a large proportion of the possession finishing 1-0 winners with the last kick of the game by Marko Popovic.
A well deserved win highlighting the massive progress in such a short space of time by the team.
