Sunday, 13 July 2025 was a proud day for the Sutherland Shire Football community as our local teams took to the fields at Football NSW’s Valentine Sports Park for the highly anticipated State Cup finals. With strong representation across multiple age groups, our clubs showcased their talent, resilience, and passion for the game.
Outstanding Performances and Results
The day delivered a mix of triumphs and hard-fought contests for our Sutherland Shire teams:
- 14 BOYS
Unanderra Hearts v. Lilli Pilli: 0 – 0 (3 – 1 PSO)
➡️ A tense match saw Lilli Pilli narrowly fall short in the penalty shootout after a goalless draw in regular time. - 16 BOYS
Forest Killarney v. Gymea United: 2 – 1
➡️ Gymea United battled hard but were edged out by a single goal. - AA MEN
Coogee United v. Caringbah Redbacks: 1 – 5
➡️ A commanding display by Caringbah Redbacks secured a decisive victory and the title in style. - 13 GIRLS
Belrose-Terrey Hills Raiders v. Gymea United: 4 – 2
➡️ Despite a spirited effort, Gymea United’s U13 girls were unable to overcome their opposition. - 14 GIRLS
Kirrawee Kangaroos v. Collaroy Cromer Strikers: 0 – 0 (4 – 3 PSO)
➡️ Kirrawee Kangaroos held their nerve in a thrilling penalty shootout to emerge State Cup champions. - 16 GIRLS
Lilli Pilli v. Wakehurst: 1 – 0
➡️ A strong performance from Lilli Pilli secured a well-deserved win and the State Cup title. - AA WOMEN
Lindfield v. Miranda Magpies: 1 – 1 (4 – 3 PSO)
➡️ Miranda Magpies pushed the match to penalties after a hard-fought draw, narrowly missing out in the shootout.
